Consent record retention
Understand how long OptinStack stores consent records and when to use Consent Forwarding for long-term archives.
OptinStack retains consent records for 3 years on Free, Pro, Business, and Workspace site-pack plans, and 5 years or custom on Enterprise. Retention is rolling: new consent records continue to be collected normally, while older records become eligible for automatic deletion after the retention window.
What happens after the plan window
Records older than the plan cutoff are scheduled for deletion from the active consent-record store. Supporting storage and snapshot cleanup follow separately managed infrastructure procedures.
Records removed from the active consent-record store are no longer available in your workspace. Copies you download or forward remain under the recipient's control. If you need a long-term archive for audits, internal reporting, warehouse ingestion, or legal workflows, configure Consent Forwarding so every consent event is also sent to an endpoint you control.
What retention does not change
Retention does not disable your live Consent banner, tracker blocking, consent enforcement, or new consent collection. Visitors can continue submitting consent choices, and OptinStack continues storing new consent records within the active retention window.
Consent Forwarding also continues when enabled on Pro and above, so your endpoint can keep its own copy independently of OptinStack's retention policy.
Deleting records earlier
You can delete individual consent records from the dashboard. Archiving a project stops runtime activity. Verified project-wide erasure requires a support request.
